Melboune, Australia
28th May to 1st June 2006

There for work so nothing much to report in terms of good food and places to see. Spent most of my time in this building

Beautiful spring/winter day.

Place to stay : Pacific International on Exhibition - Clean and spacious. Good place if you have 3 to 4 people. 2 bedrooms, living room and a kitchen area equipped with cooking utensils etc.. Apt has washing machine as well.

Place to eat...opposite the Melbourne Exbition Centre there is a food court with all kinds of Malaysian food! Not great but closest to the real thing this far away from home. There is a vietnamese restaurant : Mekong serving Pho (Beef noodle!) Not bad!

Next time when you are in Melbourne, try going to Richmond. Remember in 1992 when I visited Hangwi in Melbourne, he brought me to this place in some sort of a chinatown but filled with vietnamese. They were displaying their wares on the road and it was very much like a pasar malam but in the day. (Heard that its changed now but ask either Travis or King George). So, we went in to this coffee shop looking place and everything in there sort of brings one back to the era of the 60s kinda thing. Very old school. Right down to the music they play. Ask Hangwi. Another memory worth remembering.

Oops Forgot ! Next time you are there around the melb exhibition centre and have an hour or two of spare time, hop on the tram just outside and head for St Kilda Beach (takes about half an hour I think). Beautiful place to have lunch. Fish and chips, awesome.
